E-Slate Microworld Samples

In these pages (1-4) you can find and download various samples of Microworlds constructed with E-Slate. To use them, you have to first download and install E-Slate from the Download area. After that you may open Microworlds (.mwd files) from within E-Slate. Alternativelly, you can double-click on these files to launch E-Slate. Note that in some cases Microworlds are accompanied by various multimedia assets (packed in .zip files) which should always be kept at the relative file locations indicated by the installation file structure.

Logo-based investigation on the concept of analogy (#1)

Logo-based microworlds around the construction of bridges, designed to explore algebraic and geometrical concepts: dynamic manipulation of traditional geometrical representations, construction of geometrical figures based on their properties, embeded graphical representations into representations of real situations allowing the simulation of motion.

Logo-based investigation on the concept of analogy (#2)

Pupils try to design and construct the letters of the alphabet through the trails of Logo turtles (corresponding to Logo procedures). Then, by using the Variation component they can affect various aspects of the geometry of these letters by directly manipulating their graphical (and procedural) representations.
